Tinnitus characteristics and hearing thresholds vary among individuals, so a tinnitus response questionnaire (TRQ), audiological and tinnitus assessment is needed to gain a better understanding of the issue and help identify the most appropriate form of management.
An audiological assessment identifies the degree of hearing loss in one or both ears, and a tinnitus assessment involves matching the pitch and volume of a pure tone presented through the audiometer to the patient's perceived tinnitus.
After the assessment is complete, counseling is provided and the different forms of Tinnitus management and what is the most appropriate form for you is discussed. If Precision Hearing is not able to treat you with the best form of management that is appropriate for you, we will refer you to the most experienced professional in that area.
